Juan José Moreno Cuenca, known as El Vaquilla, became Spain’s most precocious and famous criminal; an anti-hero and countercultural icon of the Spanish transition.
He was born with no escape, marked by the violence from which he was never able to flee. At the age of 17, having already spent three and a half years in seven prisons, El Vaquilla gave his first interview for Interviú magazine. In it he recounts his hard childhood, his criminal beginnings, his experience in prisons, and the abuse he suffered at the hands of his family, the church and the police.
OJOS DE BUEY recovers the never-before-seen photographs, taken by Paco Elvira in 1979, together with the full interview by Pedro Costa Musté and Xavier Vinader.
