1983–1985, Ana Torralva.
The Wild Side recounts the brief but intense trajectory of the legendary punk group Desechables, highlighting the creation of their first two albums between 1983 and 1985. Photographer Ana Torralva documented this period, capturing the essence of the band, originally made up of three members: Miguel, Pei, and their singer Tere, who, at just 17, stood out for her commanding presence.
With a raw and primitive style, Desechables managed to make a name for themselves in the music scene of the Movida madrileña. Their fate took a tragic turn when their guitarist, Miguel, died during an attempted jewelry store robbery in December 1983. Devastated, the band resumed their career after some time, bringing in new members and releasing their first LP.
Facing further tragedies, including the deaths of other members, Desechables persevered and recorded two more albums. However, various obstacles—such as lack of distribution and changes in the music scene—kept the band from surviving the 1980s. The Wild Side revives the fascinating story of this cult band.
